Being feral means you have to be nimble and ready to rationalize changes in direction at the drop of a hat.
Speaking of hats, witness this charming example:
This hat is known as the Gecko Bank Robber's hat because a major blind spot to general human anatomical porportions led me to create a hat that covers my entire face to the chin. But because of the design it couldn't be cut or folded to fit anyone!
The feral knitter, however, is willing to take drastic steps. Three passes through the front loading washer, a session under the scissors, and some buttonhole embroidery around the edges resulted in a charming tea cozy:
I Swear It's the Last Time
Bright CuLhaid yarn!
I'm off to visit Washington DC next week on my own. Promise to miss me!

I love the tea cozy. It is the best EVER. It was simply meant to be.

Gorgeous. Sorry to hear it wasn't a hat, but it is a beautiful tea cozy.
I'm looking to make a tea cozy-I'm off to look at my hat patterns!

LOVE the adjustment to the hat! It was much too beautiful to be wasted just laying around because it was too big for any human's head, so this is a great solution and gives you the opportunity to still enjoy the beauty of this design.

OK, I promise to miss you! Love the tea cozie. YOu could also have kept it a hat and given it to some one with a lot of dreadlocks-- they always need super-sized hats.
Hope you miss the snowstorm in the east... come back soon!
