Little Pleasures
A finished object! It's been MONTHS since I've posted about something that was DONE in the normal definition of the term. [Webster's: 1. completed; ended; 2. sufficiently cooked; 3. socially acceptable].
Unlike how Sashiko is done except for the bands and the cuffs....
At any rate, for my birthday I was given a much-wished-for iPod Nano--but the problem of how to carry it around became obvious immediately. Stuffed in my pants pocket, the volume ring would circle unpredictably, and every so often I'd turn the music off by pulling a poop bag out (for the dog! for the dog!). So, being like an amoeba on a microscope slide, I reacted to my surroundings, in this instance by knitting a Nano Necklace out of scraps of Koigu:
I followed the pattern for the body of the necklace, but I joined the front and back with I-cord that continued into the strap.
I'm chuffed! [Websters: 1. pleased, delighted, gratified, etc.; 2. disgruntled, displeased, unhappy, etc. Dang, these British colloquialisms are hard to get a handle on....]

Pretty and functional!

I lived in the UK for almost 15 years and in my experience chuffed usually has the first sense, which is the one you intend, I think. I have also heard chuff used as a verb (for passing wind).
Nice i-pod bag. I've been making baby socks with koigu scraps but then my friends have been having babies.

Thanks for the link - I need one of those too. Some of my jackets and some of my pants don't have pockets, and it's amazing how often I find myself wearing a whole outfit with no pockets.

I totally thought the sentence "So, being like an amoeba on a microscope slide," was going to end with "I reproduced asexually". I suppose the nano-necklace is okay instead, though.

What a great idea about the icord. I love the colors. Course one can never go wrong with Koigu!

OK! I could use a quick project like that. Lord knows, there's plenty of sock yarn scraps to choose from. And never enough pockets.
