Mary Germain sent me a photo of her gorgeous Latvian-inspired sweater, which she designed at the 3-day Design Your Own Fair Isle workshop I taught in Wisconsin last July:
Her allover motif flows in the a mysterious way. I love the large flower detail at the hem and cuffs, and the small flowers at the top of the sleeve.
Here's the photo she used for her inspiration:
Mary teaches regularly at Sievers School of Fiber Arts in Wisconsin as well as at venues around the country—she is a trove of information about traditional knitting (in particular Latvian and Estonian knitting), so if you have the opportunity to take a class from her, take it!
Thank you, Mary, for sharing photos of your stunning design.
