Suzanne Pedersen, the brilliant organizer of the Madrona Fiber Arts Winter Retreat, also offers short, intimate workshops at her lodge-like home in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, 20 minutes east of Seattle.
I'm happy to announce that I will be teaching my 3-day Design Your Own Fair Isle Workshop there May 3-5, 2013 (that's a Friday-Saturday-Sunday).
Teaching at Suzanne's is always fun--it's like Girl Scout Camp for grown-ups. She offers free lodging to the first six people to request it, which makes this very affordable for out-of-town people. Breakfast and lunch are eaten together--with any luck we will have nice weather so we can enjoy the flowers and trees that surround the house.
I've designed this workshop to cover designing from start to finish. Now, the process takes a lot of time, so I don't promise that you will have a finished sweater in three days! No, you will have a good start on your design--and more importantly you will have the skills to design whatever you want in the future. I've broken the process down into achievable steps that make it possible for anyone to create their dream Fair Isle. Here's what one student had to say about the process.
Suzanne has all the information about logistics and a full description; write to her at suzanne AT madronafiberarts DOT com or write me for more information about the class content.
This is the only time I will be offering this workshop in the Pacific NW this year, so don't miss out!

Sounds amazing!
