Here in Berkeley the green just keeps coming! I've been harvesting the lacinato kale by the armload, and this salad is one of the tastiest--and easiest--recipes I use. Kale-Cranberry-Walnut Salad, with a few changes: olive oil for the walnut oil (because I don't generally have walnut oil on hand), "low sugar" dried cranberries, no stevia. Seriously, my husband went back for seconds!
The cauliflower is ready to harvest (this variety is a lovely soft yellow). One of my favorite cauliflower recipes is Golden Cauliflower Soup from The Clothes Make the Girl blog, but I'm going to try some other recipes for this fresher-than-fresh vegetable from our garden.
I wish I could capture the pure joy that Mason experiences as he digs in the garden! No badgers are safe around here.... I think he is happiest when we are all outside working--he digs enthusiastically and then collapses in a patch of sun.
