Fortunately, the 30 days will be up in time for you to splurge at The Kitchen Table!!!

Wishing you the best of luck!

I have been doing gluten free for quite some time now and am an advocate of it. I, too was having "digestive problems" and find now , it is so much better. When I cheat, I pay!

I did the JJ Virgin version of Whole 30 - dropped 7 foods (actually already didn't eat 3, including sugar). I literally lost 5 lbs in the first 2 days! Gluten, peanut butter, and "American Soy" were my bad boys - some digestive, but all are inflammation creating foods. As a result, I not only have lost almost 30 lbs in the last year, but have cut one of my Rheumatoid Arthritis drugs in half AND have significantly reduced discomfort from a lower back issue. IF I cheat, I hurt, so that is good incentive to stay "clean". I now walk my two mini-mini-Schnauzers 1.5 miles daily along the Chehalis River!

Congratulations to you! The vacation looked like loads of fun.

Good luck for sure! It's so easy to revert to bad habits under stress. I've basically eaten low carb for 18 years, but have to renew my commitment from time to time. You can do it! When I've made up my mind, I just have to get into the habit of saying to myself "poison" when I look at something I know I shouldn't eat (delicious breads, DD sour cream doughnuts, etc.).

Whitewater is my favorite outdoor activity; I'd love to experience it near Lake Tahoe - it looks beautiful!

Yikes, how did I miss this post? So funny - we were up in Truckee (we camp there often during the summer) probably at the same time that you were at Squaw. The bike path along the Truckee River is one of my favorite rides ever; we like to roll into Tahoe City in time for lunch at the Thai restaurant, then back downhill to our staging point at the Squaw Valley parking lot. I didn't know about trikes at Carson, but have flown one myself, solo, down in the Salinas valley in the early '80s - such a blast!

Glad you all had such a good time. Let me know if you come up again this summer. Maybe we can get together and paddle kayaks on Lake Tahoe at Kings Beach. So much fun, such a beautiful place. . .
